Easter, considered the greatest Christian holiday, brightens the home of the Bulgarian family every year. Although we celebrate the birth of Christ during the Christmas holidays, he proves that he is the Son of God precisely after he is resurrected on the third day.
Easter is also a wonderful family holiday that gathers the whole family around the table. But in our society there are people who cannot afford to celebrate the warm holiday at a full table.
That is why there are good people who want to warm the hearts and souls of these families. Such are, for example, the founders and supporters of the Give Them Hand Foundation. The initiator of the campaign is its founder Daniil Pomonov. He helps people with food EVERY year for EVERY holiday (Christmas, New Year, Easter, etc.). His team distributes food packages to families from Kozloduy and the region. There are over 250 addresses they want to visit, and this can only happen with the help of donors.
This year, one package per family will contain:
1 carton of eggs 1 egg dye 1 Easter bread 1 cheese 1 phyllo dough for banitsa meat 1 bread 1 pack of wafers 2 yogurts
Estimated amount of 1 package per family: 40 leva
Target amount: 250 families x 40lv = 10,000lv approx: £40-50
The amount per person will be calculated based on the funds raised by the end of the campaign, so the volume of people or the amount per person/family can be adjusted.
